To sum up this novel – the good bits are absolutely phenomenal, but the bad bits are really bad…
The imagery in the book is absolutely incredible. I am really there, in every chapter, with every emotion enthralling me. But the story was everywhere but on the page, throwing you around the country and London until you have no idea where you started!
Breaking up the dialogue despite it being the same speaker was a very interesting choice and not one I necessarily enjoyed. It was quite confusing at times. A disappointing novel which had amazing potential. Riley is an incredible writer just a disappointing delivery. Will definitely give her other titles a read – with slight caution.
