A beautiful poetic exploration into this kinship between the curator and the King!!
To start this off, you can absolutely tell Rebecca Perry is a poet. The way her prose dances about the page and how she plays with space across the novel is absolutely fantastic!! The detail she goes into for both food and nature is astounding to read.
I feel like everyone has a bond with someone in history, and it’s about that deep-rooted fascination which is dutiful explored here. I so deeply wanted to bathe in part 2 of the novel as it was simply divine. This review wouldn’t be complete without the amazing recognition of this being on the Booker shortlist!! What an amazing read – I simply can’t wait for her next…
